Beat The Application Tracking System: Get Your Resume Noticed

Reason Why Your Job Applications Are Not Being Seen By Recruiters:

If you have been applying for hundreds of job openings and not receiving any callbacks despite having the majority of qualifications, your resume is probably getting stuck in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Almost all mid to large-size companies use one or another Applicant Tracking System (ATS), such as Greenhouse or Workday. These ATS have different capabilities to sort and filter candidates by default.

Having worked with recruiting products at large companies for three years and having overall hiring experience for ten years, I can say with confidence that all recruiters employ some form of keyword filtering when reviewing resumes. No recruiter will sift through hundreds, let alone thousands, of resumes received for each position.

If you are not receiving callbacks, it is likely because your resume has been filtered out through automated processes by the ATS or through keyword filtering set up by recruiters. Here are two things you need to do:

  1. Ensure your resume is in ATS-friendly formatting. Not all PDFs are created equal. ATS have very basic scanning capabilities and may miss keywords if not properly formatted.

  2. Make sure your resume includes relevant keywords that recruiters might be specifically looking for in that job. Keyword integration is acceptable as far as resumes are concerned, as long as you avoid placing them in white spaces. Unless your resume at least gets seen by a recruiter, you will never have the opportunity to demonstrate that you are the best fit for the job.

The Solution:

Use the power of ChatGPT to overcome ATS filters. We have created a custom GPT that takes your resume and job description, rewrites your resume to be ATS-friendly, and includes relevant keywords from the job. It also identifies any missing skills, experiences, or other gaps from your resume that it cannot fill. Give it a try and let us know your feedback.

We have tested this resume writer as tech resume writer, nurse resume writer, engineering resume writer and as ai resume objective generator. In each case, it rewrote the resume in an ATS friendly format with relevant keywords that recruiters usually look for (both from the job description and on its own), asked about missing experience and skills that might be relevant for the job and then highlighted the experience/skills gaps that it was not able to fill in the resume.
